‘We Blacks’ – Can be Greater Asset in the Work Place.

Life is difficult with many challenging curves, disappointments but the finish line will/have to be conquered with many triumphs and accomplishments. By its nature we live in a very competitive environment or competitive world I might say, so never quit. The work place is where we fight hardest to just put food on the table to feed our families and ‘TRY’ to save little of the income after all bills are paid. We been fighting bigotry, hatefulness, prejudice and racism since our DNA was engineered by our creator. We must not be distracted!

Why so much detest against us? The answer can be informative and helpful for our survival but dwelling on this question alone on a daily basis can be a negative distraction that will lead to our personal downfall. We must focus our attention on the prosperous future ahead, we have to remain and continue to be progressively charged and competitive in the work environment, simply put MAKE MONEY.

We have to have a certain amount of competitive nature to thrive. The amount required will vary from industry to industry, but whatever business your are in, we have to have as much or more than other in that workplace. According to D. A. Benton “How to think like a CEO” he laid down some 11 experienced advices specifically targert to help you be more prosperous, competitive and successful in the work place.

The are:

  1. Be willing to Lead: Be worth listening to, worth believing, worth following.
  2. Be Sure to Fight for your People: Be loyal down-ward: spread credit downward
  3. Be certain to admit mistakes: If you are error free your likely effort free.
  4. Be unapologetic: Apologies are often vain attempts people use to vindicate themselves for something they don’t plan to change anyway.
  5. Be straight forward: Everything you say or write can be done in a plain, simple manner. Just do it.
  6. Be nice: The more power and prestige you hold the less it may seem you need to be nice. Wrong!
  7. Be inquisitive: Ask, ask, ask, and the ask more.
  8. Be competitive: Don’t pray for an easy win in situations you are involved in. You don’t learn much from success, especially easy success. You learn from the struggle.
  9. Be flexible: Be able to stand out from the crowd while still fitting in with the crowd.
  10. Be a good storyteller: People understand you better, remember what you say longer, find you smarter and more interesting if you use anecdotes to make your points.
  11. Be Good at your job: This way you can effectively lead others to be good at their jobs.

These are just advice to help you be more valuable and competitive int he workplace. Be a creative thinker and take what your time memorizing the 11 tips, learn them and run way with it. The number one objective it to have this information before anyone else. With these 11 tips you will have a unique valuable advantage over your competitors.

Please keep in mind that your competitors are not your enemies they are your co-workers, teammates a person who you can learn from and work together to accomplish goals. While imptoving on yourself never forget to be a team-player. Illuminate your skills and talents make it impossible for opportunity doors to open, recognize your talents and strengths them.

As a final note, create you own promotion do not sit-back and be complacent at your comfort zone, or wait patiently for magical promotions to appear. Conquer the challenges that life brings us and push away all distractions that can prevent you from being an successful human being in all aspects of this crazy world we live in.
